Crude Rice Bran Oil:

Crude rice bran oil is the raw material of refined rice bran oil manufacturing. Rice bran oil is popular in several countries such as Japan, India, Korea, China, Thailand and Indonesia as cooking oil. It has been shown that RBO is an excellent cooking and salad oil due to its high smoke point and for its delicate flavor.

Rice bran oil is ideal oil for margarine and shortening. The flavor gives the good palatability and the desired prime form crystal provides smooth plasticity and spreading qualities .RBO is known for reducing cholesterol and cardiovascular diseases. Since Rice Bran Oil contains three different kinds of natural antioxidants -- namely Tocopherol, Tocotrienol, and Oryzanol -- some of the major antioxidant companies have recently switched their basic oil to rice bran oil. This movement shows that the industry leaders recognize rice bran oil's oxidative stability.

In animal feed industry, crude rice bran oil is a better source of energy when compared to animal fats because it is high in metabolizable energy. It contains essential fatty acids for animals and helps reduce heat of digestion. Based on research studies concluded that the inclusion of crude rice bran oil up to 3 percent in broiler ration is recommended for better growth and high return over feed cost.Crude rice bran oil also helps reduce dust in feed, making it more palatable to animals; moreover, it acts as a lubricant in animal feed pellatization stage.

Crude rice bran oil also has high Vitamin E and Oryzanol which is natural antioxidants that prevent oil rancidity. Thus, the nutrient values in feed, when mixed with crude rice bran oil, are well preserved. Oryzanol also helps enhance animal immune system and so on.

De-Oiled Rice bran (Defatted Rice bran):

In the rice bran oil extracting process, oil is removed from the rice bran, resulting in de-oiled rice bran (defatted rice bran). To produce high quality de-oiled rice bran, the extractions processes, from raw material preparation to the end product, are always controlled under appropriate pressure, time and temperature in order to reduce microorganism in the de-oiled rice bran.

The De Oiled Rice Bran is divided into three grades depending on the raw material quality namely grade1 (pellet), grade 2 (pellet) & grade 3 (Nice), DORB is widely used in the manufacture of cattle feed, poultry feed, fish feed, as fuel for boilers.
