01. Preparation of raw material

The rice bran preparation section is designed to efficiently clean, screen, condition, and stabilize the raw rice bran prior to solvent extraction. Controlled moisture adjustment and heating optimize the material for maximum oil recovery, smooth plant operation, reduced processing losses, and consistent product quality. Proper preparation of the raw material significantly enhances extraction efficiency and contributes to the overall performance and reliability of the plant.

02. Extraction

The conditioned rice bran is continuously fed into the extractor, where food-grade Hexane is circulated in a counter-current flow to the movement of the material. During this process, Hexane dissolves and extracts the oil contained in the bran, leaving a very low residual oil content of approximately 0.2% to 0.3% in the de-oiled bran. The resulting mixture of oil and Hexane, known as miscella, is collected and transferred to a dedicated storage tank for further processing.

03. Distillation

The miscella obtained from the extraction section undergoes distillation through a series of heaters and a stripper column to separate Hexane from the extracted oil. The recovered Hexane-free crude rice bran oil is collected in storage tanks for further handling and refining. Meanwhile, Hexane vapours generated during the process are condensed and recovered through condensers, enabling efficient solvent recycling back into the extraction system and ensuring solvent conservation.

04. Desolventizing

The de-oiled bran discharged from the extractor contains traces of residual Hexane, which must be removed before final handling and storage. The material is transferred to a Desolventizer-Toaster (DT), where controlled heating evaporates and recovers the remaining solvent. The recovered Hexane is recycled back into the process, while the Hexane-free de-oiled bran is conditioned for subsequent processing, storage, and packaging.

05. Bagging section

The by-product obtained after oil extraction, namely De-Oiled Bran (DOB), is classified into different product categories based on customer specifications and industrial requirements. The finished products are categorized into the following four grades:

  • Nice Grade De-Oiled Bran
  • Rough Grade De-Oiled Bran
  • First Grade De-Oiled Bran Pellets
  • Commercial Grade Pellets

The finished products are carefully packed in gunny bags or handled in bulk as per customer requirements. Proper packing, storage, and handling practices ensure consistent product quality, safe storage, efficient transportation, and reliable delivery throughout the supply chain.
